What should you look for in a laptop deal?
One of the biggest things to consider is which laptop configuration is on sale. Often, with the best laptop deals, only a specific version of the laptop is on sale and making any changes to it could affect the price. This means that sometimes you find the 512GB model is actually cheaper than the 256GB option, or a similar situation.
When are the best laptop deals available?
Generally, you’ll find the best laptop deals during back-to-school shopping time in late summer or early fall and a bit later in the year during annual Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales events. There are laptop deals available throughout the year, but if you’re looking for the best deal and can afford to wait a little, these are the best times of the year to buy one.
Which retailers usually offer the best laptop deals?
You can usually find deals across a variety of retailers when it comes to laptop sales. Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg and other retailers tend to offer sales on more specific models while manufacturers like HP, Lenovo and Dell usually host larger sales that cover more models and configurations. If you’re looking for a specific model, you’ll want to keep checking back weekly for the latest set of deals.

Nintendo Is Offering the Switch 2 for $20 Less When You Buy Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2
This out-of-this-world deal goes live on April 12 and continues until May 9, giving you plenty of time to secure your bundle.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has been out for just over a week, and it has already become a must-see film for fans of the Mario Bros. video games. Nintendo also announced an upcoming deal that makes it easier to take the Super Mario Galaxy home.
Starting on April 12, Mario Bros. fans can get the Nintendo Switch 2 for $20 off with the purchase of a digital or physical Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 bundle. Once live, this deal lasts until May 9 and brings the Nintendo Switch 2 to $430, down from its usual price of $450.
The deal will be available at select retailers, including Walmart, Amazon, GameStop, Target and Best Buy. Not only does this deal coincide with the film’s release, but it’s also a small way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.
Additionally, Best Buy is currently giving away a free collectible 40th anniversary game case with select Mario game purchases if you’d rather not wait until April 12.
Super Mario Galaxy has been around since 2007, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 has been available since 2010 on Wii. These games are still crowd-pleasers, and this offer makes it possible to enjoy both games on the Nintendo Switch 2 for less.

The Artemis II Crew Gives a Behind-the-Scenes Tour Inside Their Orion Spacecraft
This is how the four astronauts sleep, use the bathroom and work out during their 10-day mission to the moon and back.
Artemis II’s four astronauts are currently on Day 7 of their 10-day mission to the moon. On Day 6, Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialists Jeremy Hansen and Christina Koch set a record for the farthest distance traveled from Earth.
But before they blasted off into space, back in April 2025, the astronauts took part in an «astronaut film school» through National Geographic’s collaboration with NASA on Artemis II. The publication’s photo and video editors visited the astronauts on a Houston-based Orion mockup to teach them about how to best film their mission with Nat Geo cameras, audio and other tech.
We got a behind-the-scenes look at that astronaut film school.
This is part of NASA and National Geographic’s Space Act Agreement, under which they collaborated on compact, lightweight audiovisual hardware for use inside Orion.
The following clips are just a taste. Nat Geo will soon release a documentary special that goes in greater depth. In the meantime, you can learn more about how the astronauts will rest (spoiler: one will sleep like a bat):
Even entering the spacecraft requires extra attention:
While the toilet, or «hygiene bay,» is in the floor of the vessel, Mission Specialist Christina Koch says you wouldn’t know it once you’re in there. However, the astronauts do have to use handholds and, surprisingly, hearing protection because the toilet is so loud:
Astronauts need to get in their workouts, too. The flywheel exercise device can be used with a handheld bar attached to a strap or a harness, and thanks to zero gravity, whoever is exercising will be doing so toward the craft’s docking tunnel. Since it’s over the toilet, someone could be using the bathroom while a fellow astronaut works out above them.
Though Wiseman, Glover, Koch and Hansen are more than halfway through their mission, we’re still secretly hoping for a visual showing what it looks like when a human can sleep upside down, bat-style.

Tubi App Goes Live in ChatGPT to Give You TV and Movie Recommendations
Like the ultra-customized feel of a Tubi rec? The streamer aims to make it even more personalized.
Tubi, the free streaming platform known for its vast library of cult classics and indie movies, has added an app to ChatGPT. You can now use the chatbot to find content recommendations for TV shows and movies on Tubi, the streamer announced on Tuesday.
You may already have your own search strategy when using Tubi, but the addition of the native app within ChatGPT allows you to strike up a conversation and ask for uber-specific, personalized title suggestions. If you see a film or show that captures your interest, you have the option to click «Watch on Tubi» to stream it on a mobile device or the web. In the mood for scary movies about yetis? Use @Tubi for your prompt in the chatbot and request something like, «horror movies with aggressive yetis» and expect to see a selection of titles that fit your wish list.
«Streaming should feel effortless, and as chatbots and AI agents are becoming a common way people navigate the internet, Tubi is expanding its discovery experience to meet viewers in the moment they’re expressing intent in their own words,» Mike Bidgoli, Tubi’s chief of product and technology, said in a statement.
ChatGPT opened its app store this past December. It currently includes apps for Apple Music, Zillow, Spotify and Canva, offering the ability to connect your accounts to search, design or ask for recommendations. Back in 2023, Tubi created its own AI-powered tool called Rabbit AI for mobile users to help audiences find content to watch. The company later shuttered the feature, which used Open AI’s Chat GPT-4. With today’s launch, it’s the first video streaming service to add an app within ChatGPT.
(Disclosure: Ziff Davis, CNET’s parent company, in April filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging it infringed Ziff Davis copyrights in training and operating its AI systems.)
