The ‘Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ Has Credits Scenes. Here’s What They Hint At

You’ll want to stick around for the credits to see where the Nintendo cinematic universe might go next.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is out, and it’s packed with references that Nintendo fans will recognize immediately, pulling from across the Mario series and Nintendo’s other franchises. The movie features familiar favorites Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser and, for the first time, Yoshi, in a new adventure that takes them out of this galaxy.

Following the success of 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which famously teased Yoshi in a post-credits scene, some moviegoers may be wondering if Nintendo and Illumination included a similar stinger this time around. It does, but what do the post-credits scenes mean for the Mario movie franchise?

Does The Super Mario Galaxy Movie have a post-credits scene?

There are two credits scenes in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, one mid-credits and one post-credits. And one of the clips pins down the story, while the other sets up something new.

For the mid-credits scene, we see the major cameo of the movie, Fox McCloud from Star Fox, who shows up once again. He’s been seen leaving a maximum-security prison with a large coin in his possession. He says how the princess paid for his services and wishes one of the Toads, who’s dressed as a security guard, good luck while saying, «That is one complicated family.» He then gets into his Arwing and flies off into space.

We then see inside the prison as Bowser, in his Dry Bowser skeletal form, lies in disarray, talking to Bowser Jr., who is digging a hole in the floor. And here comes Lumalee, the blue Luma who made a brief appearance in The Super Mario Bros. Movie when Luigi is in Bowser’s dungeon.

Lumalee continues her nihilistic ramblings from the original movie, saying how death is inevitable. Her joyous disposition about death leaves the Bowsers in fear as they hold each other and scream in terror.

In the post-credits scene at the very end of the credits, the monkey thief Ukiki is at it again. As he tries to escape with more stolen goods, he gets punched by a gloved hand. That hand belongs to Princess Daisy, the damsel in distress from Super Mario Land for the Game Boy. She gives a little smile and a wink, and that’s it for the second credits scene.

Will there be a Star Fox movie?

Although Nintendo has yet to confirm that a Star Fox movie is in the works, it seems likely, as there has been no indication that Fox is part of the Mario universe. His cameo could just be a one-and-done event to make the audience erupt in cheers, but it could also be a feeler.

Star Fox will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2028, which sounds like a perfect time for Nintendo to revive the series, which has been dormant for almost a decade. The last official Star Fox game was Star Fox Zero for the Wii U, released in 2016. In 2017, Nintendo released the canceled SNES game, Star Fox 2, for the Nintendo Switch.

What does Daisy’s appearance mean?

Daisy’s cameo would seemingly signal that the next Mario Bros. movie could be Super Mario Land, but that’s doubtful.

There isn’t much of a story to Super Mario Land. In that game, Daisy is the princess of Sarasaland, and she is abducted by an alien named Tatanga. There isn’t much to the game other than Mario saving another princess, and it hasn’t been revisited by Nintendo since.

Instead, Daisy has become a regular in the Mario Bros. extended cast. She can be found in the various Mario sports games, Mario Kart games and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Instead of having a movie dedicated to saving Daisy, just like how Super Mario Galaxy was about saving Rosalina, a more likely scenario is that she joins the cast in the next adventure.

Summer Travel, Freedom, and Seamless Connectivity: Why Verum E-SIM Is Becoming the New Standard for Travelers

Summer is the peak season for vacations, long-distance trips, and new experiences. Millions of people travel abroad, explore new countries, plan adventures, and try to stay connected with family, work, and social media. And in the middle of all this comes a familiar question: how do you stay online without expensive roaming or the hassle of buying local SIM cards?

The answer is already here — eSIM.

Why eSIM Is So Convenient

eSIM (embedded SIM) is a built-in digital SIM card that lets you activate mobile internet without a physical card. All you need is an app — choose a plan and connect in just a couple of minutes.

No more:

* searching for local SIM cards at airports
* paying expensive roaming fees
* swapping physical SIMs every time you travel

Now your internet travels with you.

Internet in 150+ Countries

Modern eSIM solutions provide coverage in 150+ countries worldwide, helping tourists, freelancers, and business travelers stay connected almost anywhere on the planet.

Among the services offering these capabilities:

Why It Matters Most in Summer

During the holiday season, roaming networks get overloaded, and prices for mobile data abroad often become an unpleasant surprise for travelers.

eSIM solves this problem:

* transparent, fixed pricing
* activation in 1–2 minutes
* stable internet while traveling
* no physical SIM cards required

Travel should be about freedom — not hunting for Wi-Fi or worrying about phone bills.
