If you’ve ever wanted a way to keep all of your family’s health records in one place, there may now be a solution. Fitbit co-founders, James Park and Eric Friedman, have announced a new wellness platform called Luffu.

Luffu, which translates to the Old English word for «love,» uses AI to create what it calls an «intelligent family care system.» The platform allows family members to share all their health information through an app.

Luffu will allow families to keep track of everyone’s doctor’s appointments, test results, vaccine records, medications, symptoms, diet and more. It’s unclear when Luffu will be officially available, but you can sign up for the waitlist for now. Pricing or other details have not been announced.

«We’re building Luffu as a premium service-first app experience,» a spokesperson for Luffu told CNET. «Details about pricing and subscription models will be shared closer to beta and launch.»

«Luffu is also powered by AI, and it’s built into the entire experience to help families capture and organize health information with effortless logging, learn what’s normal over time, notice what changed and get proactive guidance on what to do before it becomes a concern so the entire experience is like having a guardian for your family health and safety,» the Luffu spokesperson said.

By learning your family’s health history, the platform can alert you to changes that need to be addressed, like missed medications or abnormal vital signs. The app will also connect to third-party apps and wearables, such as Fitbit. The company spokesperson noted that Luffu will eventually have its own first-party hardware to connect with the service, but for now, the focus is on the app.

Luffu is meant to lighten the mental load of family care by organizing all of this health data in one place. «I was caring for my parents from across the country, trying to piece together my mom’s health care across various portals and providers, with a language barrier that made it hard to get a complete, timely context from her about doctor visits, Luffu co-founder James Park said.

It remains unknown which medical platforms Luffu will connect to, but the company spokesperson said Luffu aims to connect to just about any health portal.

Privacy and security concerns are top of mind, the Luffu spokesperson said, as the platform will connect to apps that contain private user information. Luffu will include alerts along with a space to log health and medication information through voice, text, photos and other health portals and devices. Key medical information can be shared across the platform with spouses, caregivers and parents.
