Nothing Will Not Release a New Flagship Phone in 2026

The Nothing Phone 3 will remain the company’s high-end phone through 2026.

Nothing announced in a video Thursday that the company has no plans to release a new flagship phone in 2026 and will keep the $799 Nothing Phone 3 as the brand’s higher-end option.

Nothing has done this before — last year’s Nothing Phone 3 was a follow-up to 2023’s Nothing Phone 2. And in the announcement, the company quickly clarified that a lower-cost Nothing Phone 4A is in the works, which makes sense as Nothing did release the $349 Nothing Phone 2A and $379 3A in 2024 and early 2025, respectively. The company also released phones in its CMF line, which has since been spun off into its own company.

In the announcement, Nothing CEO Carl Pei said there wasn’t a need to put out a new flagship every year.

«We’re not just going to churn out a new flagship every year. We want every upgrade to feel significant,» Pei said in the statement.

In addition to a Nothing Phone 4A, the company also teased plans to release more over-ear headphones following last year’s $299 Nothing Headphone (1).

Nothing’s announcement that it won’t be releasing a flagship phone this year comes in the lead-up to a number of expected phone launches from other companies. Samsung is likely to be announcing a new Galaxy S26 line in the coming weeks, and Apple is rumored to be working on a lower-cost iPhone 17E.
