Today Only: At Just $339, These Oakley Meta HSTN AI Glasses Have Never Been Cheaper
Time is running out to jump on this record-breaking AI glasses Presidents Day deal.
Amazon’s Presidents Day sale just dropped the Oakley Meta HSTN AI glasses to an all-time low price of just $339, slashing a full $60 off the usual retail price. But you’ll need to act fast because this deal only has a few hours left to run.
That price gets you the warm gray frame with Oakley’s prizm ruby lenses, but there are other combinations on offer. The black frame with clear lenses is also an option, especially if you want to be able to wear your AI glasses in all weathers. They’re also yours for just $339, but, again, time’s running out. There are other options as well, but be aware that the prices vary from one model to another.
CNET’s own Scott Stein spent time with the Oakley Meta HSTN AI glasses in July last year, including the version with the clear lenses. He noted that Oakley’s iteration on the Meta AI glasses boasts longer battery life than the Ray-Ban alternatives, a big deal if you plan on wearing these things for a long time between charges.
That battery life shakes out to around eight hours per charge, but you can extend that by an additional 48 hours when you use the included charging case to top the battery up.
All of the AI glasses staples are present and correct, including a 12-megapixel camera with hands-free capturing of videos and photos. A simple «Hey Meta» is enough to begin capturing 3K videos ready to be shared on social media and elsewhere.
Meta’s AI can be used to get hands-free answers to questions and power live translation, while athletes can hook into their Garmin devices to add performance metrics. The glasses can also be linked to Strava if that’s your activity monitoring platform of choice, too.

Why this deal matters
It’s worth paying attention to any time new technology hits an all-time low price, and that’s the case here. AI glasses take something many of us wear every day and add a layer of smarts for live translation and more. Just remember that different versions of these AI glasses have different prices, and time is running out to take advantage of these discounts.

Australians Flock to VPNs in the Wake of Online Age-Restriction Laws
App downloads for VPN services increase sharply as websites in Australia go behind age-restriction walls.
A new set of laws in Australia requiring adult websites and app stores to age-restrict content for those under 18, and requiring AI companies to restrict chatbot offerings from displaying certain types of sensitive or adult content to minors, is apparently driving many to download Virtual Private Network apps there.
Major adult sites have closed their virtual doors to those who aren’t age-confirmed in Australia, and these changes follow a nationwide ban on social media use by teenagers and young children that went into effect in December.
According to reports from Reuters, The Guardian and others, in response to the bans, downloads of VPN-related apps, which people can use to circumvent location-based restrictions, are sharply on the rise. According to Reuters, three of the 15 most downloaded free iPhone apps in the country were VPN-related as the new laws went into effect on Monday.
Lawmakers in some regions, including the US, are well aware that people use VPNs in this way. In states such as Michigan and Wisconsin, laws are being proposed to limit or outright ban VPN use. Wisconsin’s proposed law would require adult sites to block VPN traffic, while Michigan’s proposal would ban VPN use entirely in the state.
There is also a proposal in England under consideration to ban VPN use by minors. That proposal is currently under review.
