How to Get a Free PC Game Every Day From the Epic Games Store
It’s hard to argue with free games.

The end of the year usually means a last-minute rush for gifts, not least for that gamer in your life. Digital platforms like Steam have their Winter Sale, but the Epic Games Store not only has discounted games for the holiday, it also has a free title available every day during the sale.
From Dec. 18 to Jan. 1, Epic is giving away one free PC game per day. These games are a surprise and are only available for 24 hours. No purchase is needed to get access to these free titles, but an Epic Games Store account is required.
These freebies are primarily critically acclaimed indie games, but there could be some notable titles. Last year, the company gave away Remedy Entertainment’s Control and Warhorse Studios’ Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

ChatGPT Gets Spotify Wrapped-Style Year-End Review
Want some perspective on your ChatGPT use in 2025? OpenAI has a little something for you.
‘Tis the season for year-end recaps from the online services you frequent. The latest entry: Your Year with ChatGPT, a look back at your interactions with the AI chatbot, in the spirit of Spotify Wrapped.
Available now in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand for all users across the web and mobile devices, it looks at your queries to pull together the biggest themes and curiosities in a pastel-colored package. Your Year with ChatGPT also gives awards with certain attributes and ranks them in various archetypes against other ChatGPT users.
For example, I got an inventor award and recognition as a «navigator» archetype, which accounts for 22.9% of users. That makes sense, given how much time I spent investigating how ChatGPT functions, both as a thing itself and in comparison with other chatbots like Claude and Gemini. I do some serious stress-testing of these AI tools.
The year-end review also generated an AI image of all my interests.
To get a Your Year with ChatGPT, you have to have «reference saved memories» and «reference chat history» turned on. You also needed to use ChatGPT a minimum number of times to trigger the feature. Your Year with ChatGPT isn’t available for Team, Enterprise or Education accounts.
ChatGPT maker OpenAI is following in the well-trod footsteps of year-end reviews from other tech companies. Spotify Wrapped is the buzziest, with users eager to sharing their results on social media. It’s prompted some creators to film their own parody wrapped videos showcasing their dismal dating lives. YouTube too latched onto the trend with Recap, showcasing the creators that users watched most throughout the year and where they landed against all viewers. Other end-of-year rewinds include Google Search, Google Photos, Apple Music, PlayStation and Steam.
Your Year with ChatGPT caps a successful, if rocky, year for OpenAI. The company released GPT-5 — which many users weren’t crazy about — and its open weights local model named GPT-OSS. OpenAI also inked major infrastructure deals with Oracle, Nvidia and AMD, shooting its valuation to $830 billion, and it moved from being a nonprofit-esque public benefit company to a privately held company, laying the groundwork for a potential initial public offering.
At the same time, it’s been feeling the heat from Google’s AI efforts, including the launch of Gemini 3. Investors are also becoming wary of OpenAI’s cash burn amid concerns of a larger AI bubble.
(Disclosure: Ziff Davis, CNET’s parent company, in April filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging it infringed Ziff Davis copyrights in training and operating its AI systems.)

Samsung’s ‘Wide Fold’ May Bring New Dimension to Foldable Phones, Report Says
The rumored Samsung device could arrive just as Apple makes its long-anticipated foldable phone debut.
Samsung appears to be preparing a new kind of foldable phone that could expand its lineup and set the stage for competition with Apple’s long-rumored foldable device.
According to a Korean report from Etnews, translated into English using Google Translate, Samsung is developing a device internally referred to as the «Wide Fold.» The phone is expected to debut in the second half of 2026 and would introduce a different display compared with the company’s Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip models. Samsung has also introduced the Galaxy Z TriFold, which has three panels instead of just two.
Samsung has not officially confirmed the Wide Fold device or its specifications, and it did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

A wider screen than Samsung’s current lineup
The biggest takeaway from the report is the Wide Fold’s display design. Sources cited by Etnews say the device would feature a 7.6-inch internal screen when unfolded and a 5.4-inch external display when closed. Notably, the internal screen is said to have a 4:3 aspect ratio, which is wider and squarer than the tall, narrow displays found on existing Galaxy Z Fold phones.
That design choice could potentially change how the device is used, as a wider aspect ratio generally makes reading, web browsing, document editing and photo viewing feel more natural — closer to using a small tablet rather than a mobile phone. It could also reduce the need for apps to awkwardly stretch or reformat themselves on foldable screens.

A possible Apple connection
One of the more intriguing aspects of the report is how closely the rumored Wide Fold aligns with speculation around Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is expected as early as September 2026. Multiple industry reports have suggested Apple is working on a foldable device with an unfolded display around 7.7 inches and an aspect ratio close to 4:3.
If both companies release similarly sized foldables around the same time, it would mark the first true showdown between Samsung and Apple in this category. Samsung has dominated the foldable market so far, but Apple’s eventual entry could legitimize the format for a much wider audience.
What we still don’t know
The Korean report doesn’t mention pricing, camera specifications, processor details or whether the Wide Fold will launch globally. It’s unclear whether «Wide Fold» is an internal codename or a consumer-facing product name.
Samsung typically unveils new foldables during its summer or early fall Galaxy events, so if the Wide Fold rumor pans out, it may be introduced alongside other Galaxy devices in 2026. Until then, this remains an early look at how Samsung may be rethinking the future of foldable phones.
