Apple’s next-gen phones hit shelves this Friday, so keep yours looking brand new with cases on sale for as low as $37.

There’s nothing worse than scratching or damaging a new phone after you just dropped $800 (or significantly more) on it. So if you’ve already preordered the iPhone 17, which hits shelves this Friday, Sept. 19, you’ll want to invest in a proper case before it arrives. Beats has a variety of different cases for the new lineup, and right now Amazon has select colors available for significantly less than you’d pay at the Apple Store.

There are three different case styles available. Apple has the basic case listed for $45, the kickstand case for $59 and the rugged case for $79. Amazon may not always show the discount, but the online retailer does have a variety of these cases available for less right now, though prices vary quite a bit depending on the color and style. If you’re after the basic case, you’ll find it available for as little as $37, which saves you $8. Or, if you want the kickstand case, which also comes with a removable lanyard, you can pick it up for around $48, which saves you $11 compared to the usual price. You can also find the rugged case on sale for as low as $60, which saves you a respectable $19.

Once again, just remember that prices vary quite a bit by color, so the exact configuration you’re looking for may not be discounted right now. Also note that there’s no set expiration for these deals, so they could disappear at any moment.

The latest and greatest Apple phones don’t come cheap, so if you’re getting the iPhone 17 as soon as it launches this week, you’ll want to make sure it’s protected with a case. Beats makes a variety of simple, stylish and functional cases, and while they can get a little pricey, this is a great chance to grab one for less. Tinder Users Must Start Logging In With Their Faces, Starting Nationwide

The social app now has new US requirements including face identification to help quell longstanding problems with catfishing and more.

US Tinder users will find a new feature when they open up the dating app starting Wednesday: A mandatory Face Check on their phones will be required before they can log into their profiles.

The Face Check step will begin with a new request to record a video of your face, a more casual version of setting up Apple’s Face ID login. Tinder will then run checks comparing your face data to your current profile pics and automatically create a small face badge for your profile. We already know how it works, because Tinder has already launched the feature in Canada and California before the full US rollout.

The technology, powered by FaceTec, will keep biometric data of the user’s face in encrypted form but discard the scanning video for privacy. Tinder will be able to use the face data to detect duplicate accounts, in an effort to cut down on fake profiles and identity theft.

Tinder’s facial recognition rollout is also made to prevent catfishing, or people pretending to be someone else on Tinder to scam or blackmail them. But that also points to a deeper problem on the rise in dating apps — a growing number of bots, many controlled by AI, are designed to glean personal information or fool users into scammy subscriptions, among other problems.

Tinder’s working against these bots on several fronts, including this Face Check push as well as ID Check, which requires a government-issued ID and other types of photo verification.
